Going Natural and the Time of Evolutionary Hair Changes
I decided to go completely natural in 2019. It was the week of the Fourth of July, and I had been growing out my relaxer and maintaining my hair by having part of my hair natural and the other part relaxed. I would manually go in and straighten my natural hair ever so often to keep it the same texture as the relaxed section of my hair.
I had a very hectic and busy week leading up to the Fourth of July, and my dad and I were out running errands and being extremely busy. So, on the night before the Fourth of July I decided to do the big chop around 10 o’clock p.m.
I had already had about 8 inches of new natural hair growth. And, I cut off about 6 inches of relaxed hair. I had a total of 14 inches of hair, and I ended up with 8 inches remaining after I completed the big chop.
On the day of the Fourth of July, I wet my hair and wore it natural and curly and I put some coconut oil and hair gel in my hair to help maintain its wavy and curly texture.
